Jackson Township police are reminding residents to remove any valuables, including cellphones, wallets and purses from vehicles, and to lock them even if they are parked in your driveway.
On Friday Jackson patrol officers responded to multiple residences on Meadowood Road for reports of burglaries from motor vehicles and several attempted burglaries at night.
One Jackson resident reported that a 2018 Hyundai which was unlocked was entered and a purse was stolen. The purse contained the victim’s wallet along with a NJ driver’s license, credit cards and other documents.
Another Jackson resident reported that an unlocked 2007 GMC was entered and a wallet containing cash, a NJ driver’s license, credit cards and other documents was stolen.
Police officers spoke with several other Meadowood Road residents who checked their security cameras and observed two men attempting to get into their vehicles but were deterred by locks. The suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts, police said.
Residents observing suspicious activity are urged to call police headquarters at 732-928-1111 so available officers can respond to investigate. Anyone with additional information on these incidents is asked to call police headquarters.
